Kenzie Academy is looking for a VP of Finance to join our fast-growing, Indianapolis-based start-up that’s reimagining education. You will be a leader shaping the future of this company, with financial management responsibilities of both Kenzie Academy, our tech education training program, and Kenzie Studios, Kenzie’s tech consulting studio.
About Kenzie Academy
Kenzie Academy, a tech apprenticeship program that develops modern tech workers, reimagines higher education, combining training in the latest tech skills, real-world work experience, and mentorship from industry experts. Kenzie offers courses in coding and computer science, paired with paid apprenticeships, closing the gap between school and employment.
What We're Looking For
Positive attitude, team player, and a goal oriented individual who is ready to roll their sleeves up to help us build a new model of education in Middle America.
7+ years of experience. MBA or CFA preferred.
You are a proven leader.
You know how to lead through change and are motivated by the challenge of a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
You are highly analytical and can easily transition between the strategic and the detailed.
You have a strong background in financial modeling, problem solving, and frameworks for driving growth.
You are a curious and voracious learner and are willing to challenge the status quo. You are a good listener and a model business partner.
You possess outstanding written, oral, and presentation skills and can communicate complex financial matters to broad audiences. You understand GAAP and key accounting principles.
You have strong Excel and systems skills and have experience with finance transformation projects.

About the Role
This is a new role at Kenize Academy. You will be a senior leader in helping our company hit key growth and performance milestones.
Lay a strong foundation of financial planning that drives company performance on a monthly / quarterly / annual basis to support attainment of company’s growth objectives.
Implement ways of working and systems that enhance financial rigor, and enable more thinking and less data manipulation.
Build and foster strong cross-functional relationships across the business. Help the company understand how all the pieces fit together and drive performance.
Oversee preparation of business reviews that highlight key risks, opportunities, and proposed action steps. Leverage internal capabilities and industry best practices to bring innovation to systems and processes.
Develop management reporting and commentary that provides senior leaders with timely insights into trends, operational results, and growth drivers.
Provide frameworks, models, and business cases to guide capital allocation decisions.
Set company up for success in a Series A raise.
