Kenzie Academy is a tech apprenticeship and coding school. We offer a 6 month to 2-year program as a new alternative to traditional colleges.
Kenzie Academy aims to tackle a major opportunities gap in America. Applying a new forward-thinking education model, including project-based learning, critical skills training and apprenticeship, our mission is to develop a new talent pool and attract more technology jobs and opportunities across the nation.
UX Design is a 6-month course within the UX Engineering track. Upon completion of UX Design, students will take UI Engineering—front-end development with a focus on visual design. By the end of the program, students will be able to research, plan, design, & build digital experiences in an agile business setting.
The emphasis is on developing proficiency in user experience design and front-end development, while providing a basic introduction to research, visual design, copywriting, project management, and software engineering.
Who You Are
You are skilled at sketching, wireframing, and iterating through designs
You have experience designing simple and intuitive user interfaces
You are able to transform design and interaction ideas into wireframes and/or pixel-perfect mockups
You have a keen sense of typography and color
You are well-versed in Sketch and Photoshop
You have a portfolio showcasing your wireframing and visual design skills
You have a desire to teach students of all ages and backgrounds in UX
You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
You are comfortable working in a fast pace environment with tight deadlines
What You'll Do
Work closely with our head of curriculum to develop and implement curriculum
Provide support to UX/UI students
Work closely with admissions team to help interview and admit future students
Flexibility to transfer from academic to consulting work for the studio
Analyze and understand requirements from different types of projects (websites, mobile apps)
Work with designers to understand their feedback and requests. Turn ideas into small, continuous improvements.
