Partnerships Project Manager

Kenzie Academy is looking for a Partnerships Project Manager to join our fast-growing, Indianapolis-based startup that’s reimagining education. You will assist Kenzie Academy’s VP of Operations & Partnerships to implement cross-sector collaborations, including with nonprofit, public, and private organizations, to help fulfill Kenzie’s mission of equipping people from Middle America with the necessary skills, experience, and access needed to build successful careers in tech. 

 

About Kenzie Academy

Kenzie Academy, a tech apprenticeship program that develops modern tech workers, reimagines higher education, combining training in the latest tech skills, real-world work experience, and mentorship from industry experts. Kenzie offers courses in coding and computer science, paired with paid apprenticeships, closing the gap between school and employment.

 

What We're Looking For

  • Passion for our Mission: To equip people from Middle America with the necessary skills, experience, and access needed to build successful careers in tech.

  • Experience in Advocating for Social Policy Change/Philanthropy/Fundraising/ Workforce Development of Education Systems: This could take many forms, but Kenzie is looking for someone with an understanding of the workforce development and education infrastructure in Indiana, experience navigating the philanthropic and government sectors, and someone who is deeply committed to, and passionate about, creating pathways to economic mobility.

  • Rockstar Writing & Editing Skills: You have experience creating professional and persuasive written content and can share examples of that showcase your writing skills. Grant writing experience a plus.

  • Organization:  You have experience keeping a high volume of information organized in a central tracking system and can share examples of organization systems you have built.

  • Sales or Business Development Experience: You understand how to sell an idea and have experience creating consensus with leaders around an idea.

  • Attention to Detail: You don’t let ANYTHING fall through the cracks and notice tiny mistakes or errors

  • No-Task-Beneath You Mentality: Willingness to do anything necessary to get the job done.

  • Hustle: Ready to roll your sleeves up and help us build a successful company.

  • Brand Ambassador: You’ll be a representative of Kenzie to partners. You need to know how to act as a brand ambassador of Kenzie Academy in every internal and external interaction you have.

  • Self-Starter: At Kenzie, we move fast. You’ll need to be able to dive in and figure out what needs to get done.

  • Easygoing, Flexible, and a Team Player: You need to willing to persevere through tough situations, be resilient, be flexible when things don’t go according to plan, and be willing to work closely with any member of the Kenzie team to get something done.  

About the Role

You will ensure all work related to any proposed or launched partnership is created and delivered on time to external and internal constituents.

Responsibilities include:

  • Tracking: You will track all external outreach, meetings, meeting outcomes, and next steps in a central location, to ensure there is a clear record of all partnerships work.

  • Scheduling & Meeting Coordination: You will assist in scheduling any requested partnerships meetings.  This includes sending calendar invites, meeting reminders, sharing conference call details, picking meeting locations, and more.

  • Writing: You will assist in writing partnership proposals, fact sheets, email blasts, and presentations.

  • Research: You will continually conduct research to search for philanthropic or government grant opportunities and suggest opportunities where Kenzie can seek funding, or areas for cross-sector collaboration.

  • Project Management: You will create a project implementation plan for launched partnerships, and then implement the plan.

 

Experience Level

  • The ideal candidate will likely have 3-5 years work experience, but all candidates are welcome to apply!
