What is a UX Design Portfolio?

What is a UX Design Portfolio?

UX Design portfolios allow professionals to show off their unique mix of design and tech skills — two fields that, at first glance, might not seem to play well together. When you begin the job search, how should you show off your past work?

For Kenzie Academy UX Facilitator Mya Williams, the recipe for a quality UX Design portfolio calls for content, design, and marketability.

Mya recently covered this topic in an Intro to UX Design Portfolios webinar. You can access the webinar for free here! As a sneak peek, here’s one of our favorite takeaways:

“Portfolios show people who you are in addition to what you can do. It’s adding an extra piece of flair to your persona. A lot of teams today recruit for skill fit, yes. But, they also look for people who are a good culture fit. Your portfolio is the first gateway an employer will see [in determining] if you are that culture fit.”
