Our Admissions Criteria will ensure you are in the right program and ready to succeed. 

Completing a Kenzie program takes maturity, commitment, enthusiasm, and grit. We believe anyone can have a successful career in tech if they embody the right attitude and aptitude, so that’s what we look for when speaking to prospective learners. 

Our programs are for self-starters who are curious about technology and who like working with diverse groups of people. Kenzie learners are the type who persevere when things get tough and who enjoy being part of a valuable and collaborative tech community.

Admissions Criteria

  • Motivated: You can keep yourself going without others reminding you.
  • Collaborative: You’re able to work as part of a team.
  • Disciplined: You have the focus to complete your work. 
  • Persistent: You know failing is okay, but you’re always ready to try again.
  • Basic touch-typing, keyboard, and mouse/trackpad skills
  • Familiarity with web browsers and search engines
  • Comfortability with symbolic reasoning (proficient in high school mathematics)
  • Able to empathize and see problems from different perspectives
Basic Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years or older
  • Fluent in English

International Learners

International learners are welcome to apply for our online programs. It’s important to note that our programs are not self-paced so remote learners are required to be online during regular program hours.

Software Engineering program: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eastern (some cohorts meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pacific)

UX Design program: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern (some classes meet from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern)

International learners can pay full tuition up-front or pay via our standard monthly payment plan.

If you’re on the West Coast, or just not a morning person, our Pacific Time schedule is perfect for you. You’ll have time to work on your projects, participate in events, and attend office hours to get your questions answered. No matter which schedule you pick, we’ll be here for you.

UX Design Career Program Schedule: Part-Time Course

Our UX Design Career Program is built for working professionals to attend along with anyone else interested in a career in UX/UI Design and Development. You can pick which two days work best for you each week, along with the 9 Saturdays classes you’ll have during the 6-month course.
